Wolfline bus system

In 2016, the NC State University transportation department was preparing to order a new fleet of buses for the Wolfline bus system. I worked to create an updated Wolfline logo and exterior design for the buses. I also consulted on the interior finishes.

The buses began circulation in the summer of 2017 and will continue to run for around ten years before the next major update.

The previous buses had become outdated and no longer matched NC State's brand strategy.

We simplified the icon and wordmark to work better across all applications and introduced NC State's brand font, Univers.

The exterior of the buses needed to be easy to repair in case of damage, match NC State's contemporary brand, and remain recognizable as the Wolfline.

Once the buses began operating in 2017, the project was featured by the NC State College of Design and the Technician student newspaper.
